How does the prevention and treatment of heart disease differ for women? This module covers the considerations and current guidelines for prescribing cardiac medications that are specific to women, including in pregnancy and menopause.

OBJECTIVES FOR LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be better able to:

  1. Identify appropriate CV medication selection for pregnant patients.
  2. Discuss the 2018 lipid management guidelines and medications recommended for primary and secondary CV prevention.
  3. Identify the CV disease management concerns for menopausal women and appropriate medications.
