APPAC 2023 offers healthcare providers an opportunity to validate and enhance clinical competencies, acquire new assessments, and examine critical issues in healthcare at the state and national levels. Learn about new products, services, and pharmacotherapeutic agents.
The program includes experts in all tracks. Different sessions allow participants to design their own educational tracks in the areas of adolescent, adult, family, geriatric, pediatric, psychosocial, and sexual and reproductive health care. Teaching methods include lectures, case studies, discussions, and poster sessions.

Patty Hayes, MN, RN
Former Director, Public Health Seattle & King County, Member State Board of Health (Retired)
For over 40 years, Patty Hayes has been a leader in Public Health & public policy development. She recently retired from her position as Director of Public Health Seattle & King County where she led the efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic as well as other public health initiatives such as Best Starts for Kids. Currently, Patty has been appointed by the Governor to serve on the State Board of Health and the Public Health Advisory Board. She also serves as Chair of the UW School of Nursing Dean’s Advisory Board. Patty has received numerous awards including the UW Alumna Summa Laude Dignata in 2020, the MLK Medal of Distinguished Service in 2021, ANA Honorary Recognition Award in 2011 and was inducted into the WSNA Nursing Hall of Fame in 2002.
