Danielle Small completed residency training at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. She have worked for the VA for 5 years in the mental health department.

Target Audience

Advanced practice nurse practitioners, especially adult, geriatric and family nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, nurses, pharmacists and other interested healthcare professionals.

Objectives for Learning Outcomes

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be better able to:

  1. Describe the signs and symptoms, and diagnostic criteria for Opioid Use Disorder (OUD).
  2. Discuss the pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions for management for OUD.
  3. Assess and respond to opioid overdose.
  4. Comprehend and assess patient specific treatment options for acute opioid use disorder management.
  5. Comprehend and assess patient specific treatment options for maintenance opioid use disorder management.
