Conference Description
The University of Washington’s Northwest Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Center (NW GWEC), the University of Washington’s Continuing Nursing Education, and the VA Puget Sound Healthcare System Geriatric Education and Clinical Center (GRECC) are partnering to bring a series of continuing education lectures on geriatric health.
Target Audience
The series is designed for healthcare providers including physicians, nurses, physician assistants, advanced practice nurses, physical and occupational therapists, psychologists, social workers, pharmacists, and other interested professionals.
Objectives for Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this conference, participants will be better able to:
- Identify ways to stay connected to others
- Name steps to prepare for a disaster
- Identify diabetes mellitus in older persons
- Identify resources offered form area agencies
- Describe sleep concerns and identify wellness tools
- Identify resources in your community for LGBTQIA
- Understand how to look for genitourinary issues
- Identify strategies for fall prevention
- Review goals for medication use
