Course Description
This on-demand series is designed as a pediatric pharmacology update at the advanced practice level. Sessions focus on current recommendations and controversies in drug therapy for common pediatric and adolescent health concerns. Teaching methods include video, PDF handout and case analysis.
Target Audience
For pediatric nurse practitioners, family nurse practitioners, physician assistants, clinical nurse specialists, nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists and other interested healthcare professionals.
Objectives for Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this program, participants will be better able to:
- Review diagnostic criteria for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome in adolescents.
- Be introduced to guidelines and strategies of pharmacotherapy for challenging behaviors related to autism and common co-occurring psychiatric disorders.
- Know role of weight reduction and physical activity to reduce lipids.
- Discuss common medications used in pediatric dermatology.
- Discuss the presentation and evaluation of lacerations.
- Describe updates for therapeutics in pediatric populations related to upper airway considerations.
