CONFERENCE DESCRIPTION
This conference focuses on the challenge of pain management for nurses and healthcare professionals across the healthcare continuum. Join us as we hear from pain specialists presenting evidence-based strategies assessing and managing pain in all clinical care settings. Teaching methods include lectures, discussions, case studies, and inter-professional dialogue.
INTENDED AUDIENCE
Nurse practitioners, registered nurses, physician assistants, and other interested healthcare professionals working in acute care, long-term care, hospice, home health, specialty care, and ambulatory care settings.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
- Exploring the current pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches to managing acute and chronic pain
- Discussing strategies for pain management in individuals with opioid use
- Discussing the role mental health plays in pain management
- Understanding the current treatment of neuropathic pain
