CONFERENCE DESCRIPTION

This conference focuses on the challenge of pain management for nurses and healthcare professionals across the healthcare continuum. Join us as we hear from pain specialists presenting evidence-based strategies assessing and managing pain in all clinical care settings. Teaching methods include lectures, discussions, case studies, and inter-professional dialogue.

INTENDED AUDIENCE

Nurse practitioners, registered nurses, physician assistants, and other interested healthcare professionals working in acute care, long-term care, hospice, home health, specialty care, and ambulatory care settings.  

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  1. Exploring the current pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches to managing acute and chronic pain
  2. Discussing strategies for pain management in individuals with opioid use
  3. Discussing the role mental health plays in pain management
  4. Understanding the current treatment of neuropathic pain
